Your key fob comes with a transponder which has been programmed specifically for your Volvo. If you lose your keys then you'll need to take it to a dealer to get it replaced, and your car programmed. This process can last up to 10 working days and can cost a lot of money. There is an alternative to cut out some of the cost by doing the programming at home. You can find all the details you require in your owner's guide or on the internet. Take off the logo and non-logo covers and place your key fob on a clean surface. Find the gray button on the top right corner of the fob, and push it down. The cover will be opened to reveal the CR2032 3V battery.
